Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Bhutan Drones and Data Academy for the Strengthening Risk Information for Disaster Resilience Project in Bhutan. Publication Date: 13-Jan-2023 Expression of Interest Deadline: 26-Jan-2023 The Royal Government of Bhutan with support from the World Bank is implementing the Strengthening Risk Information for Disaster Resilience Project (RIR). The objective of RIR is to enhance Bhutan's capacity for risk-informed decision making and development planning in targeted sectors. Under Component A, the RGOB plans to conduct a nationwide multi-hazard risk assessment with a focus on high-risk hazards (earthquakes, floods, and landslides), priority sectors, and rapidly growing and most vulnerable communities. To harness innovative technology, the RGOB implementing agencies (IAs) are procuring and will use unmanned aircrafts (UAs) for flood and landslide risk assessment, including a detailed survey of landslide hotspots along the entire national highways and select rural roads. This assignment aims to train government officials from the relevant IAs in flying drones, collecting, analyzing, and processing data, and safety risk management.
